About

What is USE YOUR F***ING MANNERS?

Once upon a time, I worked for a very busy corporate Coffee House in Denver.  As you can probably imagine, the people there were the WORST. My temper would flare and I would get so ANGRY dealing with these people. I was taking it personally and maybe, just maybe it wasn't their fault they were being assholes. Maybe they just didn't know.

So I took it upon myself to start teaching people manners in the real world. I'd let them know casually that, "Hey! That's Rude!"

As you can imagine the Cherry Creek Crowd was not a fan of being told they're rude. I was terminated from that job for telling a customer to "use your fucking manners."

The lesson that I learned is that people don't like being told they are being rude. I had moved to Portland for a summer and there in the passive aggressive capital of the world, there was signage everywhere in reminding patrons to respect their environment, to clean up after themselves, and to generally just work on being better patrons.

I returned to Denver and found myself as a bartender of a busy college bar. The kids were fucking awful. Once again I started to teach these kids how they should behave.

Management didn't like it. After the third write up, I knew there had to be a better way... So I made up 200 stickers that would launch this silly little idea to teach people to "USE YOUR FUCKING MANNERS."

The stickers were a hit with the staff and they have slowly spread around the Denver restaurant and bar scene!

We decided to make enamel pins to put that message RIGHT in front of the customer's face, rather than hide the message around and hope they find it!

A Percentage of the Profits from the pins will go to help support Mental Health for our fellow Service and Retail employees.

We're not in this to make money. We're in this to help usher in a better work environment for us and our fellow workers. You know, the people making your coffee, bagging your groceries, or making your burger.

Many of us in the Industry suffer from Mental Health and addiction issues, and what better way to help those in need, and yourself at the same time?

Why the asterisks? Why not uncensored?

Most of us who work in the restaurant industry work for relatively "Family friendly" establishments. We wanted to make sure that these contain the strong language of how we feel, but also stay within those "Family Friendly" guidelines. Plus, the asterisks are in homage to Kurt Vonnegut's drawing of an asshole from Breakfast of Champions, which is in the shape of an asterisks.

Can you make..........
Well if you'd like to see an uncensored pin/stickers/ect... Let us know at: [email protected] and if there is enough demand, we'll make them! We're looking into making Patches. Let us know what else we else might like from us!
